The storytelling of this show served as the key influence of the narrative in my publication project. Aliens coming on earth dressed themselves in clothes that does not quite ift them in order to be accepted by humans. Wearing clothes that doesn't fit you/ faking comfort in order to receive validation and acceptance within a community.

The concept of faking comfort delves into the deeper meaning of feigning comfort due to the desire for acceptance. The Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024 collection had a huge impact on my publication project. This collection tells a story of aliens arriving on Earth and yearning for acceptance from humans. In an attempt to assimilate, they wear clothes that don’t quite fit them. The looks showcased in the show visually depict how the alien’s skin gradually emerges from beneath the ill-fitting “human clothes.” This collection serves as a reflection on the outsiders in our society who crave acceptance, leading them to present themselves in ways that may not be their most comfortable choice. The concept and storytelling serves as an important point in my creative practice, where I aimed to comment on a bigger idea through unique storytelling like the Schiaparelli FW24. Additionally, Daniel Roseberry boldly asserts that humans should accept each other as they are, encouraging us to wear whatever we want without fear of judgment because fashion is a form of self-expression. His proclamation challenges the restrictive notions of fashion. In this vision, I came to see fashion as a transformative force that fosters inclusivity, acceptance, and the celebration of our diverse and beautifully complex humanity.
